Course Outline

Objective: While on the surface, breathe from and clear a snorkel while wearing full scuba gear.

Value: On the surface, you can save gas by using your snorkel instead of your regulator.

How It’s Done:

  • With your BCD inflated (positive buoyancy) and with the snorkel in your mouth, swim with your face down, using your fins only.
  • Remember that if you put your face too far below the surface, the snorkel may go too low and fill with water. If this does happen, perform a hard blow and quickly clear the snorkel.
